The Memory House – article from the New Yorker

I encourage people to read this lengthy and thought-provoking article about dementia and how we treat those afflicted.

From personal and professional experience, I believe that the article’s premise of “white lies” to reduce anguish is ethically justified, if not almost mandatory. I wish I had read this article/possessed this information before my dad’s Alzheimer’s.

By instinct, and trial and error, I did employ many of the methods discussed. I am quote interested in other’s thoughts on this subject.
