ATTORNEY PROFILES

Sanford Horowitz has been a practicing attorney, since being admitted to the State Bar of California in 1987. He is a graduate of the University of San Francisco and received his undergraduate degree in political science at Tulane University in New Orleans in 1983. After two years in the trenches of a law firm in downtown San Francisco, Mr. Horowitz moved his office to Sonoma, "hung a shingle" and soon after started a family, built a house and is now firmly entrenched in the beautiful Sonoma Valley. Mr. Horowitz is a member of the California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, Council on Aging of Sonoma County, the Consumer Attorneys of California, the American Association for Justice(including the Nursing Home Litigation group), the National Citizens Coalition for Nursing Home Reform, the Sonoma County Bar Association, the Sonoma County Consumer Attorneys and the Foundation Aiding the Elderly.

Horowitz is a native of Long Island, New York, having migrated to Northern California in 1984. He is married and has two children.

Legal Assistant Maureen Cooper is a San Francisco native and a 1971 graduate of San Francisco State University and Empire College in 1979. Ms. Cooper has worked in law firms in Sonoma County for 28 years, and for the Horowitz law firm for 14 years. Ms. Cooper works closely with attorneys and expert consultants, independant contractors and other attorneys the firm has employed or worked with.
