Nursing Home Abuse Stats

This current and detailed report (searchable through the US Gov’t Accountability Office) on abuse in nursing homes pinpoints important statistics in determining which residents are at higher risk for abuse (i.e. residents with fewer visitors, higher cognitive impairment and lower mobility) as well as factors in nursing home management that contribute to higher levels of abuse (i.e. understaffing, lack of training, lack of oversight). It’s a helpful resource to anyone vetting nursing homes for their loves ones – especially since much of this information is, not surprisingly, not readily available to th0e public.
